1921
Jacob Kalin starts the Norfolk Furnace Company in Sioux City, Iowa.

Post WWII
Jacob Kalin forms a relationship with Lennox as a dealer. A relationship that continues today. -
1947
Sid Kalin (Jacob's son) starts working at the company called Kalins Heating and Air Conditioning now located at 1715 4th Street in Sioux City, IA.

1948
The Lennox News features Kalins.

1954
Sid Kalin appears on live television as a heating and cooling expert and the rest becomes history. Atta Boy Sid! Sid continues to appear on TV throughout his career along with his son Bruce.

1971
Kalins observes its 50th year in business.

1976
Third generation Bruce Kalin (Sid‘s son) joins the company. The business remains to this day the longest continuously operating heating and air conditioning firm in Sioux City.

1982
Sid Kalin introduces a “revolutionary innovation” in the industry, a Pulse gas furnace, said to be 91 to 96 percent efficient, compared with the standard 55 to 60 percent efficiency of the day.

1983
Bruce Kalin opens a business in Vermillion, SD called Kalins Indoor Comfort.

1989
Bruce Kalin consolidates the Sioux City and Vermillion operations under the Kalins Indoor Comfort name.

1999
Sid Kalin, an icon in the heating and cooling business retires. Bruce Kalin takes the helm.

2011
Kalins celebrates 90 years in business.

2017
Kalins Indoor Comfort opens its third location in Yankton, SD.
