Company History

Originally begun as the Norfolk Furnace Company, Jacob Kalin founded the company known today as Kalins Indoor Comfort back in 1921. His son, Sid Kalin, joined the business after WWII. After graduating from the University of Colorado in 1976, Sid’s son, Bruce Kalin, joined the family business. Kalins expanded into Vermillion, S.D. in 1983.

Recent Additions

Kalins expanded their business in 1990 with the addition of fireplace sales and the expansion of their fireplace showroom in 2000. Kalins remodeled showroom boasts one of the largest collections of hearth products in Sioux City with more than 20 working fireplaces, inserts and stoves on display. Kalins also has a fireplace showroom in Vermillion.

In 2008 Kalins added Residential Generators to their products and services.
